Unfortunately, due to health issues suffered by bass guitarist Ian Hooper, The Delmatics had to cancel all appearances from Australia Day Weekend in January 2023. After several surgical procedures at Epwort Hospital in Richmond Ian began his recuperation.
Late in June, 2023 Ian invited Stuart, Stan and Liam Webb, a drummer who had maintained contact since April 2021, to his house to make some music. Stan declined the invitation and explained that his priorities had changed and he no longer wanted to be involved with the Delmatics. After more than a decade with the Delmatics Stan's departure was a surprise. He is an accomplished musician and an outstanding vocalist. And he made a hugh contribution providing song sheets, arrangements, technical advice and help with logistics. Ian and Stuart did meet with Liam and played enough tunes to convince themselves the Delmatcs could work as a trio again. Since then the band has met regularly to establish a fun trio song-list, and will begin playing to our dancing friends soon.

In November 2019 Rob offered his resignation from The Delmatics to concentrate on his songwriting, solo recording and working with his rock'a'billy trio. Rob played with the Delmatics until his last appearance at the Cool Cat Rockers in Shepparton in February 2020. Thank you Rob, and good luck buddy. The arrival of the coronavirus pandemic forced The Delmatics to cancel all our bookings from March 2020.
Late in April 2021 we advertised for a drummer and the first response we received was from drummer/vocalist Sam Biffi. Sam's experience working in Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley tribute shows made him an ideal musician to join The Delmatics. Welcome to The Delmatics Sam.
Now, with more than 90% of Australians vacinated against Covid19, venues were opening again, with some restrictions. The Delmatics were booked to perform for the DJ and The Divas dance on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Reservoir Bowls Club. See the details below.

The afternoon was great fun for all and was well attended by Melbourne Airport Club members, many of our dance friends, and band family members.
The Melbourne Airport Club has found a new home at the Tullamarine Sporting Club, in Spring Street, Tullamarine. Sadly, the club-rooms are relatively small, and better suited for partying than rock and roll dancing.
Early in February 2016, due a persistent, painful back problem our regular drummer, Nic Pitman, was unable to play with the band at a dance in Geelong. Ian's son-in-law Mick Glover took his place for the evening. Later that month Nic felt it necesary to tender his resignation from the band, and Mick was persuaded to take over as The Delmatics' regular drummer.
Thank you Nic for your friendship, and your help re-establishing The Delmatics.
The Delmatics is now Stuart Beatty, guitar and vocals, Mick Glover, drums and vocals, Ian Hooper, electric bass and vocals, and Stan Borysiewicz, guitar and vocals.
